I'm an Astronaut

No... I'm not REALLY an Astronaut, but I definitely was inspired by the space movies I've seen recently. Interstellar and Gravity. I just feel like I'm in space as well. And so, I pen down a few more words with that in mind.
*****************************************************************************
“We are lost” I say, “In space, alone”.
We are meant to be home, not here.
Neither of us know how we came,
Nor do we know how to go back.

He has an impenetrable shield around,
Engulfing him in a plastic bubble.
No sound, no emotion travels through,
I’m wondering, can he even hear?

He is silent like a mime,
Listening, not understanding.
“Nothing” he says, expressionless
Nothing to give or take or expect.

The bodies loom around in circles,
Grazing past each other, chipping parts,
I push and pull, trying to keep them apart,
As he dodges their lines of gravity.

Here he floats along, my greatest enemy,
Who is closer to me than my soul.
He rips and tears me apart with silence,
That nobody hears anywhere.

I stay because I don’t want to leave,
I bear because I don’t want to leave,
What is worthy anyway, me or us
Or the wordless mime sitting there.

I bounce around in the darkness,
Willing myself into silence as well.
For my screams are diffused,
In the vacuum that I float in.

This place of nothingness,
Of questions with no answers,
Of doubts and emptiness,
Blind to the colors and sparkles.

Why is it here? Why am I here?
I flit, from orb to orb, knowing why,
For only a moment though,
Because it becomes darkness again.

Return

It's been over 3 years since I've written a blog post... and much has changed since then. But it's more apt to say, I've changed so much.

It's a struggle to put things in words now. I've lost touch with my creative side, got caught up with the realities of life and somehow... the dreamer within me has gone astray. I know I've neglected an intimate friendship. A bond that I've worked hard to create and left because 'other priorities' had taken over.

But here I am, asking myself for another chance. To rebuild what I once had. A satisfying, deep love.

Now, in an attempt to revive my passion, I go searching once again to escape the humdrum existence people call "life". I wrote those words the first time when I was entering the world of blogging. Excited to finally have a place to store my view of my world. My words, sandwiched between the >break < code of html.

But, hush, I'll write now... I'll let it all go and write. I'll soak in my thoughts, mull over what the past three years have thrown me, and I'll write.

********************************************************************************

I return to meet you for the first time. Again.
I hesitate, What am I to say to you?
But listen please, I have much to tell.
My stories are more than a few.

I ask you to be my patient confidante. Again.
As I pour my soul onto your ivory spirit.
But tell me please, Am I forgiven?
For the abandoned folly, I am the culprit.

I will salvage the pieces and build. Again.
While I shall bear what trials you see fit.
But promise me please, which I have not.
A passionate affair, albeit only for a bit.

I grapple with words to show you. Again.
What is not hidden, but appears so.
But welcome me please, into your heart.
For mysteries, only you and I know.

Running Away

Question not this stranger you see,
'Tis not the same you knew before.
It is as it was meant to be,
Believe, the past was a lure.

Keep searching for what was,
Try to find the slightest clue.
Something of a reason, a cause.
Its a realization long over due.

Barricade of fear, denial and an excuse.
Everything should be placidly clear.
It was yet another clever ruse,
To flee from all that are near.

Live with this answer henceforth,
It is an admission of escape,
The story has come to an end.
Shroud it as death with a drape.

My Mystic Counsel

I bow down my head,
prepared.
Masked behind the lattice,
to confess.
My regrets, my happiness, my sorrow,
my sins.
I know not what is behind the gaps,
sitting silently.
Listening to many disclosures after mine,
before mine.
A still witness to peoples words,
attentive.
I lean forward trying to steal a glimpse,
of my confidante.
The soothing voice reassuring me,
teaching me.
I hold my breath for a verdict,
my punishment.
But I receive nothing but guidance,
never judging.
It has become an unconscious need,
for approval.
From the one that matters,
me.
I gain comfort, I gain solace,
peace.
As I pardon myself and realize,
I am only human.

Memory Thief

He chants:

To steal, to keep, time and again.
To create, to weep, time and again.
To sow, to reap, time and again.
To stop, to leap, time and again.
*****************************************

Come listen to this tale I speak,
Of a thief pursuing an age old art.
Beginning to ensnare an orb of fire,
As a skilled master adept at his task.

He proceeds, twisting the sphere craftily,
The flame hisses, its tongue licks his hand,
As he leans forth, diving in head first,
Allowing the red to entangle him in a trap.

The spirited winds surround him now,
As he is launched across the seas,
With none to his name save,
A wavering compass and tarnished plot.

Fully mindful he is to row forth blind,
Amongst the floating wisps of clouds,
He curses the treacherous world,
For what he has to conduct tirelessly.

Islands of reminiscences he sees,
Gliding to the one that entices,
He paddles toward the isle for the day,
Considering the present moment-Past.

He parts with the chilliness in a jolt,
An absent warning, from no one known,
Back into the heat of the pyre when,
He will begin to practice, time and again.

To give and take

She hid behind a pillar,
Concealed from the worlds view,
Refusing to be seen,
By nearly all but a few.

I opened my arms wide,
Beckoning for her to come,
Smiling whole heartedly,
Assuring her she was the one.

She peeked from behind,
Revealing her dark beautiful eyes,
Hesitant to take a step forward,
Unable to know truth from lies.

I softly whispered a secret,
So only she could hear,
That I would hold her close,
Promising she had nothing to fear.

I have failed to place,
What convinced her so,
My display of willingness,
Or her curiosity to know.

But she ran forward with eagerness,
Gripping me tightly like never before,
Leaving us both content with the thought,
We had received what we asked for.

Habit

Trundle along,
Over and over,
It has become a habit.

The same path,
Methodical as always,
It has become a habit.

Take not from me,
My familiarity,
It has become a habit.

Veer me away,
I steer back,
It has become a habit.

What is missing,
I tend to miss,
It has become a habit.

What you read,
A lie, it can be,
It has become a habit.

There's One

There's one,
who believes snow white,
is as good as dead.
people live to die,
the heart exists to be bled.

There's one,
who exists with no fear,
and left it up to fate.
relies on absolute destiny,
believing its never too late.

There's one,
who is on a constant search,
for perfection in every way.
if not this one, or this one,
it carries on as child's play.

There's one,
who fought against destiny,
made the dream come true.
and now awaits the day,
to become one from two.

There's one,
who allowed time to pass by,
and now is filled with regret.
the questions are never ending,
a constant reminder, never to forget.

There's one,
who lives in a state of confusion,
ignoring the inner desire.
being portrayed as a hypocrite,
and marking self a liar.

Heaven Of My Earth

Here is where I spent my lazy days,
Oblivious, ignorant, my childish ways,
Mother’s love, sibling rivalry, fair plays,
Emulating monsters, elfs and fays.

Have I to reach this place,
Over the ocean, the empty space,
Merely with an unwavering pace,
Eagerly, on a never ending chase.

Has it become my asylum,
Of memories, visiting a custom,
Moving down the path seldom,
Encircling back to the new chasm.

Hence, I come back to this,
Only to find something amiss,
My sanctuary of complete bliss,
Exactly what I cannot dismiss.

May I?

May I begin to write,
A new chapter of my life,
With unhindered insight?

May I pour out my fear,
About the new beginning,
Which is undeniably near?

May I hesitatingly ask,
If my amateur abilities,
Are adequate for the task?

May I slowly speak,
Of the looming uncertainties,
And of the answers I keenly seek?

May I slyly reveal,
My veiled excitement,
And the magnificent thrill I feel?

May I leave behind,
The unnerving insecurities,
With only confidence in mind?

May I be so bold,
To dream up possibilities,
Of what the future might hold?

May I audaciously form,
My own ultimate destiny,
Whether or not it be the norm?

Severed in Half

I have been thrown in a river,
I wash away with the chaotic flow.
Beset with a heavy shield of false glory,
There, to my destination I go.

I float away with the waves,
But think not that I feel sorrow,
For I have the true hope,
That there will be no tomorrow.

Now, the wishes do not matter.
Now, there is nothing more to gain.
Now, I see the end unmistakably.
Now, I feel nothing, not even pain.

On the other side of the river,
There was the other me,
Captured and being burnt alive,
For the whole world to see.

The smoke drifted to the sky,
Becoming one with the air,
Leaving behind the gray ash,
Waste of me, from the flames snare.

Now, the wishes do not matter.
Now, there is nothing more to gain.
Now, I see the end unmistakably.
Now, I feel nothing, not even pain.

Oh, here was my heinous crime,
I have been sentenced for just this.
I renounced a numbered lie, for which,
I exchange my life of fake bliss

Give me no more chances,
Show me no false dreams,
Make no promises of better days,
Nor try to show me what it all seems.

Now, the wishes do not matter.
Now, there is nothing more to gain.
Now, I see the end unmistakably,
Now, I feel nothing, not even pain.

Enchanted

A decree of three words,
happily ever after.
Fused with an ambiance,
of glee and laughter.

After all that passed,
against all who fought.
The time of forever,
appeared too short.

A step taken forward,
faltering of an expression.
A spill of feelings,
it was failed suppression.

A few more graceful strides,
closer to the destination.
What seemed to be very subtle,
was there a hint of hesitation?

A brief reflection on eternity,
sowed the seeds for a misgiving.
Cast doubts on the thoughts,
of how to continue living.

But such worries were petty,
in this fairytale land.
It was to be a beautiful journey,
traveled hand in hand.

A curse of illusions,
was blissful, nothing tragic.
Everything was unseen,
for a minute of magic.

"Let him know his fairy tale accurately, and have perfect joy or awe in the conception of it as if it were real; thus he will always be exercising his power of grasping realities: but a confused, careless, and discrediting tenure of the fiction will lead to as confused and careless reading of fact. Let the circumstances of both be strictly perceived, and long dwelt upon, and let the child's own mind develop fruit of thought from both. It is of the greatest importance early to secure this habit of contemplation, and therefore it is a grave error, either to multiply unnecessarily, or to illustrate with extravagant richness, the incidents presented to the imagination."

YMOEU

Drudging through a quest,
fortunate are those very few,
who find somebody valuable,
like I have found you.

You are my secret,
my hidden treasure,
my contentment, my delight,
my enjoyment, my pleasure.

Shielding me from this world,
capturing me in a frame,
you are protecting me,
from many a cruel game.

I see my desires spring alive,
in your sparkling eyes,
which are filled with faith and
trust in me, devoid of any lies.

Your grand dreams for me,
have inspired such awe,
have shown me a new place,
which I never saw.

Behind that silent smile,
Behind that charming gaze,
I have found such a being,
that never ceases to amaze.

It is you and only you,
who fully knows me,
you who sees things,
others have failed to see.

I ceased to hope I would,
meet someone like you one day,
believing I would journey alone,
facing challenges, come what may.

I have never been so sure,
of absolutely anything in life,
except for the belief that,
you will be with me in joy and strife.

Void of Color, Filled with Emotions

It haunts my mind,
Like a wandering spirit.
The mingling of harmonious voices,
Singing the lyrical words,
Woven into melodious music.
The black and white images,
Dance in front of my eyes.
I watch her shy away, lowering her gaze.
I watch him approach, with a longing.
They sing of their eternal love,
In that place, In that land.
Nothing was spoken,
But everything was understood.
Fantasy existed on the big screen,
And reality opposite it.

Bottled Up In A Bottle

Drenched in an addiction,
Helpless in every way,
Caught in a stupor,
Let it be night or day.

The quizzical gaze,
And the wounding words,
Nothing more painful than,
Terms like sharp swords.

When there is sanity,
On one of those days,
The righteous acts are,
Startling in every way.

Caught in a web,
Of respect or disgust,
Questions and answers,
I must have them, I must!

A Closed Book, With the Illusion of Being Open

A familiar memory I pass,
A fragrance drifts by, a song I hear.
A transient feeling, nothing does last.
For I have come to realize,
The present engulfs the past.

I observe the path that I tread,
Anticipating the destination,,
I veer myself off track,
Recalling every word I’ve said,
For fear pulls me back.

The end will be the same,
Have I not learnt my lesson?
But the hope always lingers,
That this time, it may be different.

It almost sounds comical
That I see the outside perfect on paper,
For I know nothing about anything now,
But will I truly know everything ever?

Yes, there is a connection,
But what does it matter?
Is that really sufficient?
When I know the outcome,
Or convinced myself I do.
Maybe it just seems so.

I do not deny anything,
As I have done before.
I am trying to accept,
As I will from now on.
I know what I want,
Yet, I’m scared to even try.

Now, I chase my dreams,
Set on another dimension,
Another plane, another view,
Yet this thought still exists,
Will it be the same?
Or will it not?

Innocence, purity and loyalty.
Desire, affection and vibrance.
Neither should they be separate,
Neither should they fully combine...
They shall exist together,
In the same space and time...
____________________________________________________________________

A constant chastising
of the mind,
To comprehend
and compromise.

Nobody,
seems to be at fault,
Blamed
Are the situations
which arise.

But is it not true?
that it is so,
Where people
themselves,

Mold the circumstances
into being,
And fault can be found
as deeper as one
delves.

A task it is,
To realize
Blaming flaws
Is not where
the solution lies.

It can neither
Be forced
nor rushed.
Despite the repetition
of the now common word
'Understand'

But a puzzle
of truly understanding
That word itself
'Understand'
What is it?

It is...
To be willing,
To work
To accomplish
And
To SEE...
From the eyes
of another.

And it comes
At a noticeable moment.
That has been acknowledged
again and again.

Yet it is not the answer.
But a step
Forward.

It is not
Unnatural,
Nor is it
Forced.
It is simply
The will of their own.

Now is when
The two eminent beings
Collide.
Time. Patience.

For it is known that it does exist.
Lying beneath the surface.
It needs to emerge.
With assurance.
Faith. Trust.

For one will not
move forward
Till the other does.
And one will wait
For the other.

Conflicting
as they may be,
Contradictory
as it may sound.

It is absolutely futile
To deny
There exists
An invisible strand
by which they are bound.

Camouflaged droplet

The blockade sways and,
the bricks are tumbling.
It is the initial hint,
Of a wall crumbling.

An intense unyielding power,
It leaves everything undone.
The cracks spread through,
Weakening the blocks one by one.

It would be a vain attempt,
To fight against this force.
For it uses all means to enter,
Without any remorse.

Will it revert to its origin,
If the wall refuses to fall?
Would it be a naïve loss,
If it doesn't return with a humble call?

Dawn to Dusk

An innocent question, I ask, of how to seize the essence.

I receive a clear and simple answer: unattainable is the presence.

It was the silence in the atmosphere, fully palpable.

It was the surrounding aura, the serene ambience, barely penetrable.

A mention of pain and there was a transformation in expression.

A puzzling predicament, an uncertain glimpse, for it was failed suppression.

It was a helpless situation, where no action could be taken.

Pleasing was the sole thought, that I should not be forsaken.

It was a delicious end to an untarnished day.

For it was in a contended haven that I lay.

Which linked them both.

An unspoken promise,
A sacred oath.

Till the end of time,
They swore to be together.

To love each other,
Now and forever.

About Me!

To escape from the humdrum existence people call "life", I explore the jungle of my mind. A meandering path, with thoughts as my obstacles. I put aside the smiling face of my mother, snapshots of holidays with friends, lost memories of my childhood... All in an attempt to find answers to my branching questions.
